F.5 FIELD STUDY CAMP

In February 2015, Form 5 Geography students went to the Geography Field Studies Camp in Tsuen Wan Ho Koon Nature Education Centre. They studied about River and Agriculture. They enjoyed jumping into the water to examine river characteristics, and observing the farm fields in Long Yuen. Though it was not a favourable night for stargazing under a cloudy sky, they were able to admire the shining universe under an advanced telescope.  All in all, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for all of them.

URA MOBILE EXHIBITION VAN

On 12th November, an interactive mobile van from the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) visited our school. Students had the opportunity to learn about the process of urban renewal via a series of interactive displays, educational games and quizzes. These displays highlighted in particular the role of the Urban Renewal Authority in redeveloping older districts, conservation of historic places and the promotion of art and cultural integration in our society.

F.5 FIELD CAMP

Students from Form 5 Geography participated in a field camp conducted by the Ho Koon Nature Education Centre on 14-15 January, 2016. They visited Sai Kung Town, Sharp Island and Kam Tin to learn about geology, farming systems, land use, and data analysis. Students especially enjoyed conducting field work, such as collecting data around Sai Kung Town and walking along the tombolo at Sharp Island. Although the weather was not favourable, students also appreciated the opportunity to take a guided tour around the farmlands of Kam Tin and speak with an organic farmer about agriculture in Hong Kong.
